FDC Signs

In the case of a fire emergency, fire fighters and fire-fighting personnel need immediate access to your fire department connection, FDC. The FDC is required as part of a water-base suppression system and is the main water supply for the fire department. If the FDC is blocked, the fire department will not have the capability of supplying the necessary water to put out the fire.

Mark all FDC locations with an easy-to-read sign. FDC Signs must have 6" high lettering and words in the letters need to be at least 2" high. Use FDC Signs to mark standpipes and fire hose connections so fire emergency can quickly find the connection.
